Singer and songwriter Michael Heart composed and performed the below song on Gaza, Heart confirmed over email on Thursday. He has now made the song available to download on his website at no charge.
Abdelkader: What made you decide to write the song?
Heart: Well, like many other people in the world, I am appalled and extremely saddened by the tragic events that are still taking place in Gaza. So one night, quite recently, I picked up my acoustic guitar and started strumming it lightly, while looking at some photos on the internet, of the casualties in Gaza. Most of these photos had purposely not been shown by the U.S. media, to the public. Before I realized it, 2 hours later, I had written this song called "We will not go down". Initially, it was just an emotional outlet for me, not meant for anyone else to hear. But after I recorded it in my recording studio the following day, and after having shared the song with my family, it seemed clear that this song needed to be heard by as many people as possible. And here we are.
Abdelkader: What do you hope will result from your work?
Heart: In a perfect world, I would answer this question by saying that I hope my song will inspire the powers that be to put an end to war of any kind. But unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. So I guess that my more realistic hope is to raise awareness worldwide about the atrocities and tragic treatment with regard to the Palestinians, not only in Gaza, but everywhere else. I also hope that people, especially in the United States, begin to consider the source of the news as they see it. Most people simply turn on their TV and believe everything they see on their local news program. They don't realize that the TV stations are extremely biased, and far from objective. They're not getting the whole story, but rather an extremely distorted version of it. People have the right to know the truth. I hope that changes soon.
my god how could they ever do this dont they know we are not here to kill we are here to live learn love not hurt god has got us in peace and hope to see us rest in peace !! oh god help what have this country do to our children !!
As I hear this song, all I can do is cry inconsolably, at the sheer impotence I feel at the sight of an injustice. I am still learning my talent and hope to donate my art and inspiration in hopes to end cruelty. I am deeply affected as I consider myself a citizen of the world. For now, I can only donate this tears to those who are oppressed and will soon find a way to dedicate my life and every thought to that which is righteous and just.
GOD BLESS THIS MAN & SHAME ON ALL THE ISLAMIC & OTHER COUNTRIES SUPPORTING THE TERRORIST ACTS OF ISRAIL FOR THE PAST 60 YEARS OF OCCUPATION & TERROR OF THE STATE OF PALASTINE.
As many Americans I am not as involved in world affairs as I should be, however I am very involved with our problems here in the states. What little I know, I have always supported the Palestinian people and recognize that the slaughter of innocent men, women and children anywhere on this planet is a travesty and needs our attention. I want to know more.
Congrat's to Michael Heart for an amazing job. A true art work that serves the entire human family. The sufferings of innocent Palestinian people are well demonstrated throughout the song and the video. The song is so powerful that even for a person like me who has been working with UNHCR, Amnesty International, U.S. Human Rights Watchdog and similar NGOs for years left me crying before I can even finish this comment.

looking at recent tragedy and act of babarisem by Illigal zionist regim remind you of Nazi regim and Holocaust with a difference that majority of the European and USA were against them. but in this Holocaust the same European countries
and USA and their lacky UNITE NATION
Leadership supported the recent Holocaust, I must say this is not the will of the people of these countries, we have seen the opposition to the destruction of Iraqis and Gazan LIVES and Buildings
