A decade later, Princess Diana conspiracy theories continue with Mohamed Al Fayed

FLORIDA, August 31 2007, (Arabisto.com):
This morning, the major US networks paid tribute to the People's Princess -- Diana -- remembering her charity work and the love she had for her two sons Prince William and Harry.
Even in death, she seems to be surrounded by controversy. Anchors brought up Prince Charles' invitation to Camilla Parker Bowles to her memorial today, the unhappy relationship Diana shared with her husband and of course Mohamed Al Fayed.
A decade later it seems like Egyptian business mogul Mohamed Al Fayed still insists that his son Dodi Al Fayed and Diana were murdered by the British Royal Family.
Al Fayed is the owner of London's world-famous Harrods department store and the Ritz Hotel in Paris -- where Diana's last pictures were taken with Dodi.
Al Fayed and several other conspiracy theory believers in the Arab world contend that Princess Diana was murdered because of her relationship with an Egyptian Muslim.
The two main conspiracy theories are:
1. The Windsors, in a theory pushed by Dodi's father, could not bear the idea that Diana was possibly carrying the child of an Egyptian Muslim
2. To prevent Dodi from marrying Diana, the British secret police had the couple assassinated because they had become secretly engaged
Al Fayed has always been ferocious in his criticism of the Royal Family, claiming them responsible for much of heartache he has had to endure because of the loss of his son.
But the Arabs aren’t the only ones that believe the conspiracy theories. Here are some other conspiracy circulating on the net.
1. Arms dealers had her killed because they were angry at her support for a ban on landmines
2. Princess Diana faked her death to relieve herself of the paparazzi
3. Prince Charles had her assassinated by M16 because she was seen as a liberal non-conformist
4. Dodi and Diana were murdered by business enemies of the Al Fayed family
I guess this shows that even after 10 years, the public is still in denial that she is gone. They continue to be enamored by her fairytale wedding and her commitment to charities. I guess I am guilty of it too. Even as I was rushing through my daily routine this morning, I couldn't help but to stop and listen to Harry's touching description of "the best mother in the world."
