Who we are
We are the Arab American street, the premier outlet for breaking news events in the Middle East. Arabisto Media, is based in Central Florida and is owned by Nadia Gergis, 30. She works for a mid-size news organization in Florida and has a bachelors degree in print and broadcast journalism. She obtained a masters degree from New Jersey-based Seton Hall University in Strategic Communications in 2005.

Arabisto.com fills a critical gap for one of the nation's fastest growing, most dynamic, and arguably least understood population groups, Arab Americans.

Arab American entrepreneurs include Jacques Nasser, former president and CEO of Ford Motor Co. and John Mack, chairman of the board and CEO of Morgan Stanley, one of America's largest investment banking firms. The chairman of the board and CEO of Fresh Del Monte Produce, Inc. is Mohammed Abu-Ghazaleh and a second generation Lebanese American Andrew Thomas is president and CEO of Heinekin USA.

Entertainers include singer-dancer-choreographer Paula Abdul and pop star Shakira, of Colombian and Lebanese descent. Three time Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub, starring in USA Network's series "Monk", is Lebanese. Shannon Elizabeth of "American Pie," "Scary Movie," and "Tomcats" is of Lebanese and Syrian ancestry and lovely Salma Hayek is of Lebanese and Mexican descent. America's foremost consumer advocate and Green party presidential candidate Ralph Nader is of Lebanese decent while senior editor and anchor Octavia E. Nasr has been named CNN's first senior editor for Arab affairs. Hoda Kotb is a correspondent for NBC's "Dateline" and Jim Avila, who is of Lebanese and Mexican descent, is a national correspondent for NBC News.
ARAB AMERICAN DEMOGRAPHICS
Population
At least 3.5 million Americans are of Arab descent. Arab Americans live in all 50 states, but two thirds reside in 10 states; one third of the total live in California, New York, and Michigan. About 94 percent live in metropolitan areas. Los Angeles, Detroit, New York/NJ, Chicago and Washington, D.C., are the top five metro areas of Arab American concentration.
Income
Median income for Arab American households in 1999 was $47,000 compared with $42,000 for all households in the United States. Close to 30 percent of Americans of Arab heritage have an annual household income of more than $75,000, while 22 percent of all Americans reported the same level of income. Mean income measured at 8 percent higher than that national average of $56,644.
Education
Arab Americans with at least a high school diploma number 85 percent. More than four out of ten Americans of Arab decent have a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared to 24 percent of Americans at large. Seventeen percent of Arab Americans have a post-graduate degree, which is nearly twice the American average of 9 percent. Of the school-age population, 13 percent are in pre-school, 58 percent are in elementary or high school, 22 percent are enrolled in college, and 7 percent are conducting graduate studies.
Occupation
Similar to the national average, about 64 percent of Arab American adults are in the labor force; with 5 percent unemployed. Seventy three percent of working Arab Americans are employed in managerial, professional, technical, sales or administrative fields. Nearly half as many Americans of Arab decent, or 12 percent, are employed in service jobs in relation to Americans overall at 27 percent. Most Arab Americans work in the private sector, 88 percent, while 12 percent are government employees
